Purpose of Job:
The Interstate Batteries Recycling (IBR) Strategy & Analytics Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive strategic and analytical oversight, conducting in-depth analyses, synthesizing critical insights, and delivering actionable recommendations to inform high-level decision-making across the function. This role will be expected to lead cross-functional project teams in operationalizing business strategies throughout the organization.
Job Components:
Strategy Development
- Maintain and implement comprehensive short-term and long-term strategies for the Interstate Batteries Recycling (IBR) Division.
- Generate and execute actionable insights to drive financial performance through commodity analysis, competitive intelligence, and industry research.
- Develop and present compelling business cases to ensure senior-level stakeholders understand and act upon the latest recommendations.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses or studies to answer key hypotheses pertaining to near, mid, and long-term strategic opportunities.
- Lead the development of the long-term business plan for lithium recycling.
- Spearhead and manage cross-organizational transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational efficiency.
Financial Management
- Collaborate with the finance function to deliver IBR commitments and provide performance management indicators on effectiveness.
- Accelerate IBR performance by providing recommendations for identified business opportunities and margin optimization.
- Manage commodity exposure and opportunities through market research & analysis.
- Support the development and execution of lead demand strategies aligned to the IBR financial forecast that results in accurate short and long-term financial forecasts.
- Contribute to risk management efforts ensuring IBR strategy and organizational risk profiles are aligned.
Process Improvement & Analytics
- Coordinate with the broader Supply Chain function on planning, transportation, and inventory management activities to ensure full network integration.
- Enhance departmental processes to improve financial and/or operational performance for lead and non-lead batteries.
- Provide thought leadership on the development of analytics and reporting metrics to provide real-time management insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with focus in Business or Engineering.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in business strategy, management consulting, analytics, finance, or related functions.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills translating data into actionable insights with a path to implementation.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills with the ability to explain difficult concepts succinctly.
- Knowledge of recycling industry trends and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance only on the most complex matters.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and drive change.
Scope Data:
- Responsible for helping the execution of more than $100M in recycling revenue tied to delivering the 5 Year Plan.
- IBR Profit & Loss responsibility.
- IBR Annual Operating Plan forecasting responsibility.
- Clearly communicate complex business plans through multiple levels.
- Build cross-functional relationships across the enterprise and at all levels, including collaboration with Sr. Leaders.
- Utilize and manage resources efficiently to support IBR strategy activities.
