Job Description

Industry leading food manufacturer is seeking Production Supervisor's in their Cleveland area facility for both 2nd and 3rd shift operations. This person is responsible for the activities of production teams involved in the creation and processing of food products. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets. Food industry experience not required but highly desired.


Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and execute production schedules to optimize resource utilization and meet customer demand.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to maintain efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, quality assurance) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production workers to achieve performance goals.
  • Assign tasks, provide training, and address performance issues.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Enforce strict adherence to food safety and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to identify and resolve issues.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent quality problems.
  • Equipment and Facility Management:
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to address equipment breakdowns and repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production environment.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement process optimization strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and certifications (e.g., FDA, USDA).
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and safety incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a production supervisor or in a similar role in the food industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures.
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
