This organization is seeking a Cost Analyst - Civil Projects to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed quantity take-offs, preparing competitive bids, and collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate cost estimations.

Focus:

  • Conduct detailed cost analysis by reviewing contract plans, specifications, and other bid-related documents.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Estimating and Lead Estimator to understand project scope and unique conditions.
  • Identify critical cost factors and non-standard project elements that may affect pricing.
  • Solicit cost estimates from key subcontractors and suppliers to support accurate bid development.
  • Utilize HCSS software for cost comparison, analysis, and bid preparation.
  • Ensure adherence to diversity and inclusion requirements, including the preparation of good faith effort (GFE) documentation.
  • Develop and prepare detailed write-ups for Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) submissions.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for various bid items and assist in preparing comprehensive bid packages and final proposals, including documentation for joint ventures as needed.
  • Maintain communication with project stakeholders during the bidding process to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Support post-award activities, including procurement strategies and subcontract issuance.


Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years focused on cost analysis and estimating.
  • Proficiency in the following software: HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6 and SmartBid
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
