Controls Specialist

$100K - $120K, + bonus, averaging around 10%

Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry looking to hire a Controls Specialist in a plant in Bolingbrook, IL! This opportunity comes with A LOT OF ROOM FOR GROWTH. Responsibilities

Hands-on Controls Specialist with a solid background in PLC and HMI programming, particularly with Allen-Bradley systems. This individual will spend 80% of their time on the plant floor, troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining control systems, while the remaining 20% will be dedicated to desk or office work. They need someone who can make an immediate impact—not just a part-changer, but someone who can also teach and guide others. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment, compliance with regulatory requirements, and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

Must Haves:

· 3-5+ years experience in a controls-focused role, preferably in food manufacturing

· Proficient in PLC and HMI Programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc., they use Allen Bradley)

· Strong Electrical knowledge with a strong understanding of electrical schematics and control panel design

Nice to Have:

· Experience programming Servo Motors, or VFDs for motion applications

· Familiar with PowerFlex Drives with Ethernet/ IP (a common industrial protocol) capabilities

· Experience working with and configuring DeviceNet (an industrial network protocol used for communication between devices, sensors, actuators, motors, and controls)

· Education in some kind of electronics program such as Electronics Engineering, Electrical Maintenance, Electronic and Computer Technology, engineering degree would be a major PLUS

· Mechanical background and aptitude

· Bilingual Spanish

· Any experience teaching/ training other technician
