What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitoring and surveying moored vessels, equipment, and property for compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations at the INACTSHIPMAINTO Bremerton Site
- Writing and executing safety and environmental compliance plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Program Elements. Updating these documents annually or as needed.
- Investigating near misses, accidents, and injuries, determining cause and mitigation, and reporting findings to Global Insurer and OSHA. Completing and maintaining the OSHA 300 log on the OSHA website.
- Conducting routine inspections of the facility, ships, and work processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicating effectively with Global employees, leadership, and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to foster strong working relationships and meet contractual obligations.
- Delivering timely, accurate reports and documentation to the Project Manager and corporate leadership.
- Leading weekly briefings with the Project Manager on the status of ongoing and planned projects.
- Representing the company professionally in all dealings with the COR, suppliers, subcontractors, and other government agencies.
- Chairing monthly Safety Committee meetings and enforcing JHAs, especially related to PPE, through the Safety Supervisor and HAZMAT Technicians.
- Providing clear, firm, and consistent leadership while fostering a team culture based on individual accountability, growth, safety, respect, integrity, and commitment.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum:
- A four-year college degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental Science with at least three (3) years of experience managing safety and environmental compliance OR five (5) years of experience as a Safety and Health Manager or Environmental Manager in a Marine Repair Environment
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
- A current driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the company's Vehicle Safety Manual.
Security Clearance:
- Position requires ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
