Scientist, Downstream Process Development

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $83,200 - $104,000 per year

Location: San Carlos, CA - Onsite Role

Job Summary:

As a Scientist, you will perform bench-scale lab work with antibody purification from human and mouse models. You will independently design and execute novel and scientifically rigorous experiments and interpret results. This role requires an individual who can develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems and lead others in problem-solving efforts. This is a clinical laboratory position in which protective equipment and precautions will be required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• B.S. degree and 6+ years of relevant experience; master's degree and 4+ years relevant experience; PhD and 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with antibody purification or other protein purification using FPLC or HPLC (affinity, ion exchange, or hydrophobic chromatography)
• Experience with AKTA for chromatography systems.
• Extensive knowledge in professional fields of specialization, including protein biochemistry and protein purification
• Strong ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize resources based on project needs.
• Able to creatively apply scientific or engineering principles in problem-solving in potentially novel areas
• Demonstrates critical judgment and strategic thinking sufficient to represent functional area concerns on cross-functional teams.
• Must have advanced written communication and excellent oral communication skills.
• Understands and applies standardized root cause analysis, investigation tools, and methodologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
