Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Estimator located in Nashville, TN. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project blueprints, conducting cost estimates, coordinating with project stakeholders, preparing proposals, and managing budget expectations. The role involves collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create project estimates and complete quantity takeoffs of materials.
- Solicit bids from trade partners and prepare vendor comparisons and estimate summaries.
- Organize and coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and schedules.
- Estimate contractor costs and determine appropriate pricing options for projects.
- Support the lead estimator with data entry into estimating software programs.
- Maintain historical cost data and participate in review meetings or site investigations.
- Assist in gathering permitting or regulatory information affecting the project.
- Manage addendum logs and client documentation.
- Provide training and guidance to new estimators, engineers, and interns.
- Solicit new bidders as needed and prepare relevant documents for upcoming projects.
Qualifications
- Experience in project estimating, cost analysis, and budget management
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent field experience
- Certifications in estimating or project management (e.g., CPE, PMP) are a plus
- Experience with tools like ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, and Google Earth.
