Our client, an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, are seeking an energetic and coach like minded individual to join them at their Ohio location as a Operations manager.
Key aspects in an individual the business is looking for include someone with experience in a management or supervision role, as well as someone who will be able to think outside the box and help the location across a variety of its functions, someone who can wear many hats and is of a winning disposition with great energy and enthusiasm.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
· Oversee inventory purchases and shipments, coordinating with suppliers and transport companies to ensure adequate stock levels.
· Review proposals and negotiate contracts within budget limits and authority scope.
· Meet with suppliers and sales representatives to negotiate contracts and resolve customer issues and complaints.
· Schedule production, process orders, and oversee packaging of products.
· Complete and maintain the required company and regulatory reports.
· Ensure adherence to safety protocols and conduct safety inspections.
· Ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations, and coordinate customer site inspections and safety seminars.
· Coordinate truck routing and delivery schedules, oversee truck and warehouse maintenance.
· Analyze and streamline office operations such as payroll, bookkeeping, correspondence, filing, and other clerical services.
· Approve invoices for payment and assist District Managers and Sales with price quotations.

· Job duties may also result in:
o Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
o Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site’s emergency action or contingency plan.
o Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities Manages 1-3 subordinate supervisors overseeing a team of 1-9 employees in roles such as drivers, warehouse staff, and office personnel. Responsibilities include:
· Conducting interviews, hiring, and training staff
· Assigning and directing work, evaluating performance
· Managing discipline, rewards, and resolving employee concerns
· Ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university,
· 5-10 years of relevant experience; including 2-4 years in a supervisory role.
· Chemical Experience is a plus.
· Class A CDL is preferred.
· And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Capabilities & Requirements:
· Physical requirements include lifting and moving various weights up to 100 pounds.

· Work environment includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions and mechanical equipment.
· Occasional exposure to chemicals and noise.
· Occasionally work at elevated, precarious heights and could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic or caustic chemicals.
