Your Responsibilities:
Under minimum supervision performs intricate manufacturing parts using manual and computerized machining operations to fabricate parts and components for a wide variety of systems.
• Work from blueprints and sketches, with a minimum of information, to develop a sequence of methods for making parts in a production environment.
• Set up and perform precise machining, and CNC machining operations to fabricate production quantities.
• Operate and maintenance machine in optimal operation following maintenance schedule (TPM).
• Drive and collaborate with engineering to implement root cause corrective action (RCCA) on machine operation.
• Participate and collaborate in process improvement activities.
• Use all machine shop inspection equipment and electrical/electronic instruments to perform routine inspection techniques and procedures.
• Troubleshoot machine operation and mechanical issues.
• Typically provide direction and train lower level machinists and technicians on an assigned project.
• May participate in field trips to install experimental equipment or be temporarily assigned to a laboratory to assist an engineer.
• Keeps tools and work area in a clean and orderly manner (5S routines).
• Adheres to all safety regulations and policies associated with assigned duties and work location.
• Performs other duties as required.
Your Profile:
• Study and knowledge equivalent to high school or technical school, plus two years apprenticeship training and 5 to 10 years diversified machining experience to include milling and lathe.
• Must have the ability to use handbook formulas and advanced shop mathematics.
