Join our team as a Social Media Assistant for an exciting seasonal position focused on enhancing visitor experiences and promoting the natural values of Ontario's provincial parks. As part of a collaborative team, you'll utilize your digital marketing skills to educate and inspire people to visit, value, and love our provincial parks. You'll develop and manage engaging social media content, analyze metrics to measure success and provide updates on strategies.
In this role, you'll also collaborate with team members to discuss objectives, messages, and audiences, ensuring our communications are effective and impactful. With the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in promoting and protecting Ontario's natural treasures.

What can I expect to do in this role? In this role, you will:
• assist with the coordination of the social media program by researching, creating, developing and posting creative social media content
• assist with creating engaging e-newsletter content
• provide feedback on content plans and schedules for all media channels
• liaise with parks staff and communications colleagues to define messaging and campaign timing
• provide input on activity on social media channels to keep abreast of changes in program channels
• monitor social media communities for relevance to Ontario Parks and to assist with issues management, tracking stakeholder trends
• create and update daily, weekly and monthly reports as required
• develop content for internal and external websites on specific initiatives, marketing and promotions
How do I qualify? Mandatory You must have a minimum of a valid driver's license class “G” or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario.
Social Media and Digital Marketing Skills You can demonstrate:
• an ability to utilize social media platforms, blogs, websites, and communication channels
• an understanding of current social and digital marketing trends
• an ability to create graphics and process and edit videos and photos
• an ability to develop and publish social media content and analyze the results of social media initiatives
Communications Knowledge and Interpersonal Skills You can demonstrate:
• writing and editing skills to create accurate, creative and engaging content for social media channels
• research and writing techniques to develop content for web, social media, and other communication channels
• communication and presentation skills to provide updates on content and social media approaches
• interpersonal skills to collaborate with others and participate in meetings
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills You can demonstrate:
• problem-solving skills to resolve quality and delivery issues
• analytical skills to understand performance metrics for social media programs and campaigns
Organizational Skills You can demonstrate
• an ability to handle multiple projects and calendars simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
