Key Performance Objectives (KPOs): Improve Product Quality: Enhance the quality of precision components, including gears and splines, and implement high standards of manufacturing. Optimize Production Efficiency: Within the first year, aim to identify and implement process improvements that reduce production time by 5%. This could involve optimizing NC programs, improving machine uptime, or streamlining workflows. Support Manufacturability of New Products: Work closely with the design team to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently and to a high standard. Major Challenges: Balance Quality and Efficiency: Maintain quality standards while meeting production timelines by finding creative solutions that optimize both. Stay Current with Manufacturing Technologies: The manufacturing landscape is continually advancing; stay proactive about adopting the latest technologies and equipment. Work Collaboratively Across Teams: Coordinate with manufacturing operators, inspectors, and design engineers to build strong working relationships and communicate effectively. Success Milestones: 30-60 Days: Familiarize yourself with the company’s precision manufacturing processes, quality standards, and operational performance while building relationships with colleagues. 60-90 Days: Begin identifying process improvement opportunities and develop a short-term action plan to address key challenges. 90 Days and Beyond: Start implementing your action plan, tracking your progress toward achieving the KPOs, and taking on increasingly challenging responsibilities. Desired Qualifications/Requirements: Technical Expertise in Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of machining principles, design, manufacturing processes (such as hobbing, shaping, grinding), and inspection methods. Gear knowledge is a plus but not required. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues and drive quality and efficiency improvements. Analytical Skills: Skilled in data analysis to identify trends and root causes of production issues. Project Management Skills: Experience developing and implementing process improvement plans. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Teamwork Skills: Experience collaborating across different departments.
