HVAC Technician:nnJob Description: An HVAC Technician (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) installs, maintains, diagnoses and repairs commercial and residential HVAC equipment to ensure optimal indoor air quality and comfort. This includes furnaces, heat pumps, chillers, boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, air quality systems, compressors, and humidifiers/dehumidifiers. Problem solving is a big part of the job and communication skills are equally as important for an HVAC technician as is the technical know-how. They'll take note of each time they perform HVAC work and are responsible for logging it for their business records. Technicians often interact directly with clients, explaining issues, providing maintenance tips, and discussing potential system upgrades. Building trust and rapport with customers is essential, as it ensures a positive experience and may lead to repeat business or referrals that help grow the HVAC business.nnTech Responsibilities: HVAC Technicians have several responsibilities, depending on the specifics of a job, their primary duty is to either maintain systems or install new units. In fact, most HVAC Technicians spend much of their time alternating between these two roles.nnOther common responsibilities for HVAC Technicians include: Removing old systems. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Running pipe and duct systems through homes. Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams. Understanding refrigeration cycles. Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. Knowing how to interpret various technical data, such as pressure and temperature. Performing routine maintenance. Training junior team members. Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act. Meeting or exceeding local HVAC codes. Minimize down time through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance. Diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions, then performing the appropriate HVAC system repairs. Recharging refrigerant levels, checking for leaks, and ensuring the refrigerant cycle is functioning correctly in air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Performing energy-efficiency upgrades, like installing smart thermostats or sealing ducts. Communicating with clients and customers explaining maintenance procedures and providing recommendations for system upgrades or replacements.nnTechnical Requirements: GED or high school diploma. HVAC certificate or Equivalent hands-on experience. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification. Valid drivers licensennSalary Range: $16.75 - $40 per hour depending on skills and experience.nnBusiness Hours: We are open 24 hours a day for service and emergency calls.
