- Including $9,400 for safety/performance bonuses annually
Basic job responsibilities of the Delivery Assistant position include, but are not limited to: - Assisting with unloading up to 30,000 pounds of product at our Kwik Trip Stores
- Placing products in the correct location (cooler, freezer, backroom)
- Being able to work with minimal supervision, in a safety conscious environment, and in a variety of weather/temperature conditions
CDL Delivery Assistant/CDL Driver Trainee Requirements: - At least 18 years old to be a Delivery Assistant and CDL Driver Trainee
- Excellent driving record in accordance with Kwik Trip's driving matrix
Specific CDL Driver Trainee Requirements: - At least 18 years of age
- Ability to meet DOT requirements upon the completion of training which include, but are not limited to a DOT drug screen and DOT physical
- Willing to sign contract to enter Kwik Trip's CDL Tuition Reimbursement Program
- Commitment to accept a driving position with Kwik Trip upon completion of apprenticeship
Physical requirements: Sit up to 6 hours at a time; stand up to 2 hours at a time; bend/reach/twist/stoop/squat frequently; lift up to 75 pounds to waist level occasionally; lift up to 70 pounds to 60 inches occasionally; lift up to 40 pounds to 72 inches frequently; carry 90 pounds occasionally; push/pull up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
Work Schedule: Trainees average 40-60 hours per week and follow schedule of the route driver they are assisting.
Established route drivers will work a 4 days on, 2 days off rotating schedule, including holidays. This means every 7 weeks you would have both Saturday and Sunday off. Drivers typically work up to 50-60 hours per week and must be able to work a day shift schedule with a start time 3pm.
16-week CDL Training Program Includes: First 8 Weeks: As a Delivery Assistant you will primarily work 10-12 hours during day shift. While completing your CDL training course, your schedule will be a day shift as you attend classes.
Second 8 weeks- Once promoted to a CDL Driver Trainee, the schedule will be night shift while you work with trainers. At the end of the 8 weeks you will set your seniority.
