Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Dean to lead our School of Agriculture, Business, and Technology (ABT). This person will be a visionary approachable leader focused on advancing our school's strategic vision, fostering continuous improvement, and promoting a collaborative environment that engages all members of the campus community.
Reporting to and working with the Provost, and in coordination with the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Society, the Dean of ABT will have responsibility for the strategic, programmatic, financial, fundraising, accreditation, faculty, and management operations that support the mission and vision of the of the School of ABT and its role within SUNY Morrisville's multiple campus locations.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive Success within the School of ABT
• Support and execute strategic vision for the School of ABT in alignment with the SUNY Morrisville's Overall Strategic Plan
• Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to seek and inspire opportunities for advancing current programs and identify opportunities for new programs in emerging areas of ABT
• Lead initiatives that enhance academic programs and operational efficiencies within the school
• Maintenance, oversight, and accountability for the school's budget and spending priorities
Lead Determined, Innovative, Resilient Students, Faculty & Staff
• Utilize data-driven metrics and feedback to assess and make thoughtful decisions to improve the student experience, retention, mentorship, and program effectiveness
• Provides strong leadership to encourage professional development and support for faculty and staff to drive flourishing programs and student success
• Lead consistent assessment and revitalization efforts to support teaching and learning
Support a Collaborative Team of Stakeholders (Community Members & Industry Partners)
• Serve as a voice for the School of ABT, advocating for resources, grant funding, and other opportunities to support a growing applied learning and research agenda
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, industry partners, and alumni to create opportunities for collaboration and synergy
• Engage stakeholders in curriculum development to ensure alignment with industry needs and workforce development
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications
• An earned Doctorate Degree
• 3+ years of progressively increasing leadership experience in academic administration
• Record of achievement in teaching, research, publications, grant awards, and service that would be equivalent to a tenured appointment rank of professor
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience and/or education in a field relevant to the School of ABT
• Ability to provide dedicated commitment to establish and grow high quality educational, applied learning, research, and service programs
• Ability to define, articulate, and execute a strategic vision for the future of the College to both internal and external constituencies
• Ability to support and cultivate a distinguished, accomplished, and diverse faculty
• Outstanding communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity, transparency, and accountability
• Ability to lead effective development and fundraising activities
• Experience with grant writing and implementation of grant awards
