Are you looking for a long-term position with the State of Nevada? Our client is seeking a special type of individual to work in a call center environment. You will be working closely with Dept. of Public Safety employees directing and vetting calls and contacts through a telephone hotline, mobile apps and the internet.
This position works closely with all Department of Public Safety employees, allied agencies, non-governmental agencies, community partners and citizens. Candidate must be willing and able to work shift work, holidays and weekends.
Minimum requirements to qualify for the position: High school diploma or equivalent. Strong verbal and, written communications skills, ability to multi-task, able to perform under pressure in a stressful environment, strong typing skills, entry level experience with Microsoft Office and Excel, able to complete and pass a criminal background investigation.
Not required but preferred: Candidates who possess training and experience in social work, counseling, life coaching or have experience in telecommunications or digital communications background.
You will be communicating with individual callers: - Providing tips to an anonymous tip platform
- Inputting calls or dialog data into a software program
- Monitoring the status of tips forwarded to recipient(s)
- Communicating with recipient(s) via the telephone, fax, email, etc
- Maintaining records and files,
- Planning, and preparation, composing and editing correspondence
- Data entry
Skills required: - Basic/Intermediate computer skills
- Able to navigate through computer programs (non-descript),
- Typing skills, Able to hear while on phone, and see computer-system is non adaptable
- People and communication skills
- Able to receive verbal information and type the information accurately and swiftly
- Able to read and comprehend typed messages
- Confidentiality, and training thereof
- Able to communicate with children in a non-biased manner
- Able to work in a team, and accept constructive criticism
Additional Requirements: - Must be able to work Day (7AM-3:30PM), Swing (3PM-11:30PM), and Grave (11PM-7:30AM) for a 24/7/365 agency to include holidays and weekends.
- Must be able to change between these shifts every two months or so at minimum.
- The position is located in Carson City, Nevada and is in-office only.
- Must be drug free, including THC - Drug test required.
- Must be able to pass background - No wants/warrants, no felony convictions (regardless of how long ago it happened)
- Must have no visible tattoos (head/face, neck or hands)
Education and Experience (required at time of application:) - Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
- OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
