Job Title: Floor Technician - Part Time (NARA I) Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a
part-time Floor Specialist at our
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) project Sunday - Thursday 6:00pm - 10:00pm in Washington, DC (NARA I). This is a SEIU, Local 32BJ-represented position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings.
- Perform floor maintenance activities
- Performing cleaning tasks and special projects
- Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
- Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Measuring chemicals correctly
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
- Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs
- Perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects including moving furniture before and after cleaning, if required
Qualifications: - Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred
- Proven working experience as a janitor or floor technician (5 yr experience)
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Familiarity with SDS
- Ability to handle equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Must be able to work a schedule of Sunday - Thursday 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Physical Demands: - Physical Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly walk for extended periods; required to sit; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
