This position involves overseeing and managing all the stages of the planning and production process, from purchasing to the final delivery of products to customers. The role is responsible for implementing best practices and supporting overall cost reduction efforts related to raw materials, work in progress, future demand forecasts, and finished goods inventory. Key responsibilities include planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products throughout the entire production cycle. Additionally, this role will manage contract line-item delivery schedules and create special workarounds and plans to address unforeseen events.
- Responsible for developing, publishing, and maintaining detailed allocations that effectively balance inventory levels, resource availability, and production capacity. This role includes negotiating necessary corrective actions for product schedules in response to evolving business conditions.
- Serves as a crucial liaison among the Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales departments to ensure cohesive management of the Production schedule. This includes collaborating with other production support teams to help them meet corporate goals effectively.
- Tracks and manages cost savings initiatives, as well as documenting entries related to Non-Conformance to help identify areas for improvement.
- Actively participates in both new and sustaining product teams, providing valuable insights on materials management, scheduling strategies, and revenue-related concerns to drive overall project success.
- Develops and meticulously documents internal procedures and interface protocols to establish a consistent scheduling policy, particularly focusing on assembly scheduling processes. Works diligently to optimize production schedules in alignment with corporate objectives for revenue growth, increased profitability, and substantial cost savings (such as initiatives within the Rails Line of Business).
- Offers support in addressing system implementation challenges linked to the scheduling process, ensuring smooth integration and functionality.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the planning Bill of Materials (BOM) and corresponding estimate sheets to support accurate production planning and cost estimation.
- Continuously monitors performance against the established Production Schedule, adjusting as necessary to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines.
