Job Summary The SANE RN is responsible for responding and offering medical-forensic services to patients of all ages who present to a covered facility with reports of sexual assault/violence: For patients in the adolescent age (post-pubescent) and above/adults, SANE will operate independently in the medical-forensic exam; for patients who are in the pediatric/pre-pubescent age, if pediatric sexual assault training has been complete, the SANE will operate independently, otherwise SANE will assist a provider with the medical-forensic exam. For the eCare SANE role, the SANE RN will also act as a mentor to the end site’s clinicians and provide guidance and direction in the care and support of the patient Education and/or Experience Ability to pass national background and sex offender screenings, as well as state child abuse and neglect screenings. Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter. Prefer 2 years nursing experience in Critical Care/ED/ Women’s Center or Prior SANE experience. Tele-health experience preferred Completion of clinical SANE training; individualized based on experience. Working knowledge of all OSHA safety and health standards relevant to the position and job duties preferred Knowledge of trauma-informed care and the neurobiology of trauma preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Dakota or meeting the enhanced Nursing Compact Licensure (eNLC) requirements is required. Successfully completes 40-hour didactic training (adult/adolescent) with an IAFN-recognized SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) training program RN Licensure required, within the states that e-Emergency is providing service, within 120 days of hire. Will encourage completion of pediatric SANE training (43hr) when available. Current CPR, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification or completion upon next available program. Work Schedule Day/Night Shifts: 7:00am-7:30pm, 7:00pm-07:30am; PRN (as needed) Occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below.
