Gastroenterologist Locums Job in New Jersey January 2025 and Ongoing Assignment
Coverage Needed:
- Gastroenterologist needed in New Jersey
- January 2025 and ongoing
- Breakdown of shifts: 7 days a week
- Shift Hours: 8am-4pm
Assignment Details/Requirements:
- Currently active or able to obtain New Jersey Medical License
- Inpatient; Need provider to take all inpatient consults and follow up for 7 days at a time. 8 hours, M-F during the day, in house.
- Anticipated procedures/surgeries: Perform investigative endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopies, gastroscopies, and barium swallows. ERCP
- Provide Gastroenterology On-Call coverage for Emergency Department according to an on-call schedule
- On call
- Participate in coverage that is scheduled in 24-hour blocks of time (to include approximately 2 hours of onsite rounding; remaining 22 hours are unrestricted call).
- Diagnose and treat GI disorders, including Crohn s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive issues.
- Consult with and assist members of the medical staff and nursing staff when such consultation is required and requested by an attending physician.
- Patient Load: approximately 15 patients a day
- Board Status Requirement: Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Additional support staff: APN/PA
- Provider is working in tandem with private GI providers
- Advanced Practice Providers: Yes and the locum will be responsible for them
- EMR: Epic
- Full, temporary, or emergency privileges: Full privileges will be needed, Credentialing meeting is third Monday of every month
