Borgo is hiring a full-time Pastry Cook.
Borgo is the newest addition to the Marlow Collective (Diner, Marlow & Sons, Romans, Achilles Heel) from restaurateur Andrew Tarlow. The group’s first restaurant in Manhattan features an expansive formal dining room separated by a fireplace, an open kitchen with a wood-fired oven, and an ambitious beverage program curated by industry veterans. We are seeking gifted hospitality professionals to join our team. This is a nighttime position that requires open availability, including weekends.

Responsibilities include:
- Working service along with the kitchen team.
- Pastry prep for dinner service (producing cakes, ice creams, tarts, and specialty desserts)
- Good, basic knife skills
- General kitchen knowledge and capacity to work in an efficient and organized manner
The ideal candidate will:
- Have 1 year of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred
- Bring detail and care to their work
- PM availability required
- Be reliable, focused, organized, communicative, and curious
- Be able to self-manage as well as be managed
- Be organized, friendly, and reliable
- An interest in working in various capacities toward meeting the goals of the team and the business.
While performing the duties of the job, a cook is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
