We have the following position at our Victor Valley Material Recovery Facility in Victorville:
Equipment Maintenance II
Performs day to day general maintenance and repairs, and preventive maintenance on wheel loaders, dozers, forklifts, company vehicles, etc.
SALARY RANGE: $29.80 - 32.30/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Maintain Transfer Station equipment in good and safe working condition for the processing of municipal solid waste and recycling.
• Proper use of safety equipment and procedures, must provide and use steel toe safety boots
• Properly communicate and give continuous status to Supervisor/Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Must abide by all company rules and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid California Driver's License and a good driving record, required
• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty and industrial equipment
• Minimum 2 years' experience with diesel, gasoline and propane engines preferred
• Experience with diesel, gasoline and propane engines preferred.

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of electrical and hydraulics and pneumatics
• Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics
• Order parts when necessary
• Fill out work and purchase orders
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Safety-conscious and adherence to safety standards

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Be able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Work overhead and underneath equipment, climbing, pushing and pulling
• Be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, heat and cold conditions
• Frequently out in the elements (i.e. rain, sun, wind)
