Description Hanover Foods Corporation located in Hanover PA is currently seeking a
Truck Jockey position on 3rd shift. This position is primarily responsible for performing distribution and audit functions to assure accurate reporting of inventory movement, including jockeying trailer.
Primary responsibilities - Performs distribution and audit functions to assure accurate reporting of inventory movement
- Jockeys trailers, both loaded and empty, at the Hanover Plant and to local outside storage locations, local customers, and service/inspection stations in accordance with good safety practices
- Checks equipment and maintains associated log on daily basis
- Ensures the cleanliness of trailers before loading
- Performs duties of a Checker
- Ensures the safe operation of a forklift and electric powered hand jack
- Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and other plant rules and regulations when performing the job
- Extended shifts and/or shift rotation is required to cover for absences and vacations
- Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc
- Adheres to common safety guidelines/practices
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Leadperson
Qualifications - Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports
- Possess a current and valid commercial driver's license CDL Class A and proper endorsements for the type of commercial vehicle to be driven as defined in 49 CFR Part 391
- Be physically and mentally qualified to drive a company vehicle and posses a valid medical certificate as defined in 49 CFR Part 391
- Working knowledge of Distribution and Inventory Control procedures
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to operate an Industrial Forklift and electric powered pallet jack
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Attendance is an essential requirement - defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance, including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends.
