This position is responsible for effectively maintaining production and facilities equipment throughout the Plant while ensuring that equipment operates at design efficiency and throughput.
General functions:
- Installation, service and repair of all plant equipment.
- Able to carry out assignments with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work overtime, off shifts and weekends if needed.
Responsibilities: - Able to work safely, follow LOTO procedures and other safety protocols
- Have general knowledge of facilities equipment such as process/vacuum pumps, electrical power & controls, air compressors, chiller systems, pneumatic controls, valves and HVAC systems
- Be able to troubleshoot, repair or replace mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, extruders and other production support equipment
- Be able to troubleshoot, repair or replace electrical components including circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, solenoids, safety switches, transducers, electro-mechanical relays, solid state relays, and electrical heating systems
- Be able to perform minor welding repairs, metal cutting, and fabrication work
- Perform equipment PMs, work order documentation, and other facilities support equipment
- Be able to read & interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings
- Be able to operate maintenance shop tools, electrical meters, forklift, scissor lift, and other associated tools needed for the job
- Plan and organize individual work for day-to-day operations, projects and plant shutdown in a timely manner
- Maintain good housekeeping throughout the plant and shop
Skill/Education Requirements: - High school diploma/GED
- Preferred Electrical or Maintenance trade school/vocational certificate or 4 years working experience in a maintenance or electrical field.
- Experience using computer software for email and other forms of communication: Microsoft office, Word, Outlook etc.
Essential Physical Requirements: - Be able to safely lift up to fifty-five pounds as needed during an 8-hour shift
- Be able to safely climb and work from a ladder or other above ground level equipment
- Be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
