FOOD SERVICE PART-TIME DRIVER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • To maintain schools and other facilities so students and employees can work in a healthy and safe environment.
  • To work collaboratively with department and building administration.
  • To foster an inclusive work environment, maintaining high morale.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Chauffeur License
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Fluent written and verbal English and Arabic are preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to transport hot carts, equipment, food, beverages, and any needed item(s) to satellite schools as requested.
  • Compliant with all county, state, and federal regulations for transporting and storing all food and food service supplies.
  • Must possess county certification at all times.
  • Ability to empty trucks, stock shelves, and store products.
  • Follow procedures involved in the receiving, storing, and rotating various food supplies.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing storage areas.
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance of all food service vehicles.
  • Ability to track time when arriving and leaving satellite locations.
  • Keep an inventory of food supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings.
  • Use computers and electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor and Head Cook.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Work is characterized by the necessity for occasional physical exertion and working in the storeroom, kitchen, and freezer.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, and the general public.
  • Must be able to distinguish between different chemical materials/food ingredients and must be able to read and understand label information.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn occasional hazards and safety precautions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Performs occasional lifting and carrying objects up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  • Work involves medium-heavy lifting of boxes, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, climbing, maneuvering in confined spaces, and prolonged standing and walking; it also involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and smells commonly associated with cooking, cleaning, and school in general.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel objects and tools, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head, and reach forward.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person.
  • The employee may frequently lift, push/pull, and/or move items such as food trays or mobile food carts, cleaning supplies, pails, and trash receptacles.
