Requirements
As the Facility Maintenance Coordinator for San Fernando Cathedral, you will provide general maintenance and basic repairs for the San Fernando Cathedral and Administrative Officed Building. This position requires strict adherence to safety procedures in place as well as efficiency and professionalism.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Inspect buildings and facilities on a regular basis and initiate repairs
Perform basic maintenance in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.
  • Responds to after hour building maintenance and emergencies as needed
  • Works with staff to schedule and complete repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical problems to determine best way to correct them checking repair manual when necessary
  • Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working conditions
  • Move furniture and office equipment if requested
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of materials, parts, supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Constantly walk campuses inspecting for repairs needed or damage
  • Helps maintain safety of campus buildings
  • Assists the Cathedral Landscape Ministry in the maintenance of landscape areas to include mowing, weeding, grass trimming, etc.
  • Assists and attends to authorized general contractors and vendors
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience
Minimum of (2) years of experience in maintenance related work
License and Credentials
Reliable transportation
Valid drivers license
Skills:
  • Must have working knowledge of general maintenance tools
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Must have good written and verbal skills
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must take initiative in completing tasks
