POSITION SUMMARY


The Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive range of employee health and safety programs and services to meet the goals and legal obligations of our client. These functions include, but may not be limited to, the assessment, facilitation, and evaluation of injury prevention, environmental safety, occupational health and safety, employee and family wellness, and the development, implementation, and consultation of safety policies. This role oversees all Health and Safety activities and provides advice to management and employees.


This role oversees the high-end portfolio of our client and the ideal candidate should be an A-team player with an exceptionally high belief and sharp business acumen to exceed goals.

OBJECTIVES

  • Develops, directs, and supports safety processes and systems to continually improve the safety results of our organization
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies & government regulations
  • Performs Risk Assessments on all critical processes.
  • Facilitate and assist in Site Audits and completion of Action decks.
  • Assesses to evaluates facilities/functions/processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements & internal policies
  • Completion of yearly OSH audit.
  • Develop proactive steps that help us meet and achieve annual goals working in conjunction with the Director of OPEX – Health and Safety.
  • Leads & facilitates safety committee process; engages leadership, functional groups & employees as an integral part of the process
  • This position is responsible for coordinating actions & responses following safety related incidents, including contact with government agencies & local and executive leadership communication
  • Duties include the planning, organizing, and execution of actions in the area of safety & occupational health.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, formal and informal training in support of on-going safe work environments
  • Responsible for safety performance measures that are associated with accident and injury performance
  • Safety Documentation, Communication, and Reinforcement
  • Functions as the liaison with outside agencies (OSHA, EPA, other regulatory & NGO organizations) in conjunction with the Director of OPEX – Health and Safety.


COMPETENCIES

  • BA or 5 years experience in an industry-related field
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and classroom facilitation skills
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team building: ability to involve employees and the leadership team in the process
  • Excellent computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Project
  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field and 3 years of experience in safety management
  • Formal training in regulatory requirement
