Job Summary
We are looking for a Site Supervisor that will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities at a construction or industrial site. This includes managing a team of workers, ensuring that safety protocols are followed, monitoring progress, and communication with the project manager and other stakeholders. The site supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that the site is kept clean and organized. Other duties may include coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, resolving conflicts and issues that arise, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Works with PMs to execute schedule according to agreed up plan and dates.
- Accomplishes construction objectives by completing; safety talks/orientation, assigning task, scheduling resources/equipment, coaching, and disciplining employees
- Manages sub-contractors by coordinating, supervising and, evaluating quality of work.
- Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to PMs and reviews productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Must be proficient at resolving problems. Identify misses or issues and come up with creative cost effect solutions.
- Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenses and cost based on budgets provided
- Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; determine resources required; establishing standards; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders
- Ensures inspections at critical phases are completed and reviewed by the city and the consultants
- Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes and policies
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for the project to ensure it is completed as per MBC expectations, quality, function, form, and experience for the client.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The operations management role requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and eight to 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Experience in establishing and monitoring construction and financial controls to achieve on time and on budget project completion
- Understanding of the relevant legislation, by-laws and codes affecting commercial and industrial development and construction
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Lien Act for the construction industry.
- Proficient in preparing, reading, interpreting construction designs and documents, preparing and assembling design estimates and working budgets, cash flows and pricing.
- Ability to deliver a wide variety of project scopes and manage construction schedules, cash flow and to ensure timely completion of construction work.
- Knowledge of sustainable building design and implementation.
