Established in 2015, this company has diligently catered to the multi-residential, commercial, retail, institutional, and industrial sectors in Ontario, and are now looking to expand operations into BC. Their expertise lies in capital system and equipment replacements, retrofits, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and new construction projects.
Your new role:
The Mechanical Engineer role will have a broad focus on strategic planning, client management, project delivery, operations and leadership as our client expands into the BC area. To be successful, you will be a trained engineer, passionate about improving existing mechanical building services. You are motivated when tackling challenging situations but are also equally excited and engaged to focus on project-related tasks and efficiently execute detailed designs using AutoCAD. Your friendly but direct communication skills allow you to ask the tough questions when required, enabling you to thrive in a team-based environment. You appreciate the opportunity to be treated as a professional and are looking for a position to work directly with senior management to further your career.
What you'll need to succeed
- 3–5+ years of direct industry experience in the field of mechanical building services. Retrofit experience is preferred.
- Diploma / Degree from a mechanical building services technical program or an engineering program.
- P. Eng Designation is Preferred.
- Good working knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Building Code of Canada and the BC Building Code.
- Good working knowledge of ASHRA and CSA/ULC standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a drive and the ability to collaborate and problem solve as part of a team.
- Ability to utilize both verbal and written forms of communication to effectively communicate internally with colleagues as well as externally with clients.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Applications.
- Highly motivated self-starter with an attention to detail is a must.
