Position Title: After-Hours Facilities Technician Reports To: Tool Room Supervisornn**Position Summary: PSI is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. We have been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.nnWe are seeking an After-Hours Facilities Technician. The After-Hours Facilities Technician monitors access to facility to control traffic to and from property. Opens gate to allow entrance or exit of authorized individuals. Checks equipment and buildings for signs of intrusion, fire, or damage and contacts authorities as required. Assist the Facilities department with maintenance and light repairs on assigned equipment and facilities. Ensure that facility grounds are well maintained by performing routine landscaping, weed whacking and general maintenance.nnPacific Shipyards International, LLC. Expectations of Employee:nnIs committed to the company values and adheres to all policies and proceduresnPerform duties of his/her job and as assigned by ManagementnMaintain a positive and respectful attitude and conduct her/himself with integrity and in a polite, professional manner treating customers and co-workers courteously and respectfullynCommunicates regularly with Officers, managers and Supervisors about the different divisions and departments issuesnConsistently be on time for work, meetings and appointments and deliver work projects by assigned due datesnMaintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashionnMaintain and ensure the safety of all assigned equipmentnPerform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standardsnMeet productivity goals and quality standards as set by managementnnEssential Duties and Responsibilities :nnPerforms maintenance and light repairs on assigned equipment and facilitiesnIdentify and report any major repairsnPerform routine landscaping on the facility grounds and weed whacking when needed.nForklift certification or able to obtain certification.nTake initiative to improve the appearance of equipment and facilities.nWork with little or no supervision.nAble to write an incident report.nPatrol the premises to ensure all equipment and spaces are in good working order (not to exceed every two hours).nPerforms other related duties as assigned.nnEducation, Training and Experience:nnHigh School Diploma or equivalentnBasic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.nAbility to read and understand written directions.nProven experience as a Handyman, Building Maintenance Technician or related field.nExperience using hardware tools.nn*Physical Requirements: *nnMust be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.nMust be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.nMust be able to access all parts of the company equipment.nProlonged periods of standing.nnAdditional Information:nnMust show proof of your legal right to work in the United StatesnThis position requires US Citizenship due to clearance required for base accessnMust be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)nMust be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sitesnAll candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and a background check before employment begins.Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualificationnValid State of Hawaii drivers license in good standing, class 3 or highernCandidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shiftnnThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee filling this position.
