This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Position Description, Page 1 of 3nnBOARD APPROVED ON 08/08/2022nnBUCKEYE UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT No.201nnPOSITION DESCRIPTIONnnTITLE: Bus DrivernnEMPLOYMENT TERMS: 0.75 FTE / 9-monthnnSALARY CLASSIFICATION: ClassifiednnGENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:nnThe Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students to thennDistricts regular and extracurricular programs.nnPRINCIPLE DUTIES:nnEnsure and maintain a safe environment for students during loading, transport andnnunloading and report student misconduct according to established directions.nnAssess potential emergency situations and take appropriate action to protect thennsafety and well-being of students and staff.nnObserve all mandatory safety regulations for the purpose of being in compliance withnnthe established rules and laws as outlined by DPS and Arizona Traffic Laws.nnPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for the purpose of ensuring the safennoperating condition of the vehicle and complying with mandated guidelines.nnReport all necessary preventative maintenance as directed for the purpose ofnnensuring the safe operating condition of the vehicle.nnPrepare and submit required record information on appropriate forms in a timelynnmanner.nnInstruct passengers in the rules and regulations to maintain safety on the bus.nnAssist in the implementation of strategies to manage student behavior and monitornnstudents to ensure the safety of other students and staff on the bus.nnReport observations and incidents and communicate them to appropriate districtnnstaff.nnAbility to communicate with and receive direction from the Supervisors ornnDispatchers.nnMaintain a clean bus on a daily basis.nnMeet or exceed the District dress code.nnAbility to drive all bus types safely.nnBUHSD#201 Position Description, Page 2 of 3nnBOARD APPROVED ON 08/08/2022nnQUALIFICATIONS:nnHigh School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.nnMust be 21 years of age.nnValid AZ Dept of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardnnPossess and maintain an appropriate Arizona Commercial Drivers License (CDL) andnnAZ DOT Certificate.nnPosses and maintain a safe driving record and meet the requirements for School BusnnDriver Certification.nnObtain and maintain a valid First Aid Training and CPR Certificate.nnMust be able to pass a DOT Physical exam, drug screen and alcohol test.nnMust be able to push, pull, or lift, up to 50 pounds and pass DPS physicalnnperformance test.nnAbility to communicate and work well with staff, students, and parents.nnOCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:nnMedium risk - Work is routinely performed in both indoor and outdoor environments,nnincluding exposure to noise and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
