Job Overview The General Maintenance Worker will provide for the daily HVAC mechanical maintenance operations and activities for all assigned facilities. The incumbent will inspect, repair, and maintain all mechanical systems. The incumbent will also troubleshoot problems and inspect for defective mechanical equipment or systems and make the required repairs. The incumbent assist HVAC Mechanic while working on more complex issues, repairs or projects.

Pay Rate: $30.55/ hourly
Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Perform mechanical work independently on equipment.
- Utilize diagrams to locate failures.
- Identify root causes of various types of mechanical failures.
- Complete all work tasks timely, accurately and completely.
- Coordinates with other personnel to properly identify and utilize the correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of job/task.
- Generate and submit outage requests.
- Respond timely to emergency site maintenance.
- Perform on call and preventive maintenance duties.
- Perform periodic inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items as required.
- Operates customer and company motor vehicles and/or other equipment in a safe manner
- Performs various duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.
- Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs duties in an overtime capacity when needed to meet performance expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Mandatory:
- High school graduate or equivalent GED.
- At least two (2) years of experience in the HVAC service and maintenance trade performing similar work tasks.
- Possess Universal CFC certification.
- Possess and maintain or obtain within 6 months and maintain the Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Familiarity with applicable HVAC codes and standards.
- Demonstrate an understanding of safety precautions, i.e. PPE, lockout/tagout
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to use and maintain HVAC tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting on HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, operations, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret instruction, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading).
- Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Ability to identify basic facts and terms of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration principles and theories.
- Familiarity with basic mathematical functions as required.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
- Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
- Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
