DescriptionnnGeneral SummarynnAs a controls technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the building automation systems and equipment in the hospital premises, such as HVAC, lighting, etc. using hand and power tools. You will also work with computer software and hardware, such as controllers, sensors, actuators, and networks. You will need to read and follow codes, standards, and regulations, program and calibrate devices, monitor, and optimize system performance, and troubleshoot and resolve issues.nnEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesnnInstall, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic control systems in accordance with engineering specifications.nnPerform routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.nnDiagnose and repair faults in pneumatic control systems, including valves, actuators, sensors, and other related components.nnCollaborate with other team members to identify and resolve complex issues.nnConduct testing and calibration of pneumatic devices to ensure accurate and efficient system performance.nnImplement adjustments to optimize control processes and enhance overall system functionality.nnMaintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.nnCreate documentation for troubleshooting procedures and system configurations.nnWork closely with engineers, electricians, and other technicians to integrate pneumatic control systems with other control and automation systems.nnProvide technical support and guidance to other team members.nnAdhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.nnStay informed about industry standards and best practices related to pneumatic control systems.nnKnowledge, Experience and Skill RequirementsnnHigh school diploma or equivalentnnValid controls technician certificationnnMinimum 5 years of experience as a control’s technician in a commercial or institutional settingnnKnowledge of controls techniques, tools, materials, and codesnnAbility to read and follow codes, standards, and regulationsnnAbility to install, repair and maintain various types of building automation systems and equipmentnnAbility to work with computer software and hardwarennAbility to program and calibrate devices, monitor, and optimize system performancennAbility to troubleshoot and resolve issuesnnAbility to work independently and as part of a teamnnAbility to lift and carry heavy objectsnnAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesnnAbility to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and vendorsnnWork EnvironmentnnMust be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.nnOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.
