Position Details:
  • Starting pay at $70,000 annually.
  • Work schedule: Sunday night to Thursday night, from 10:00 PM to approximately 7:00 AM.
Position Purpose:
As a Shuttle Driver, you will be an essential part of our operation, responsible for transporting empty trailers to our warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to shuttle yard locations. You will operate tandem trailers, tractor-trailers, or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring timely deliveries in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You'll be required to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, ensuring all inquiries are addressed effectively. You will work as part of a team, performing tasks that contribute to the success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre/post trip safety checks and inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer, adhering to DOT regulations.
  • Report any safety issues or required repairs promptly.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company-wide safe driving policies, reporting hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all route paperwork is complete and available at dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to a predetermined route schedule.
  • Execute hook/unhook procedures in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor-trailers in designated locations securely.
  • Ensure all equipment and freight are locked and secured appropriately.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns for transport back to the driver check-in at the base facility, completing required paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Record daily hours of service and log entries in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
  • Keep the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers clean and organized.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Satisfactory results on pre-employment drug test.
  • Pass road test and possess a valid DOT Health Card (or be able to obtain one).
  • Capability to lift and maneuver product cases/freight ranging from 60 to 90 pounds as required.
