PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:nnDesign, fabricate, install, modify, repair and maintain machines, equipment, structures and facilities. Perform critical welding such as pressure piping, construction, equipment installation and parts repair. Trouble shoot IOTOV zero energy and make needed repairs to high pressure Hydraulic Systems.nnMATERIALS USED, PROCESSED AND HANDLED:nnMachine parts, equipment, buildings, furnaces, structures, vehicles, packing, lubricants, fasteners, replacements parts, mechanical hardware, air, steam, gas. Piping systems such as hydraulic, steam, air, water, gas, oil, chlorine, nitrogen, fuel, and sewer lines. Component parts such as pipe, valves, traps, sumps, cutting and sealing compounds, lead, solder, welding rods, brazing rods, fluxes, etc.nnTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:nnMachine tools such as saws, drill presses, lathes, grinders, bending rolls, punches, shears, brakes; powered hand tools such as drills, hammers, wrenches, oil cans, grease guns, threading and tapping tools, heating equipment, cranes, all types of industrial trucks, ladders, scaffolding, rigging equipment; measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, surveyor’s level, tachometers, hand and powered pipe-cutting tools; vibration analysis, balancing and alignment equipment, PLC terminals, computers, and other maintenance analytical devices/tools/equipment. All types of gas, electric and inert atmosphere welding equipment; manual and automatic welding; brazing and soldering equipment.nnDUTIES AND WORKING PROCEDURES:nnDesign, install, fabricate, repair, inspect, test, calibrate, adjust, maintain, modify, construct, clean, service and lubricate machines, equipment, electrical controls, structures and facilities.nnDiagnose and correct problems and proactively seek elimination of wastes and failures.nnInterpret mechanical, hydraulic and civil drawings and schematics.nnInterface with design and engineering personnel, to assure efficient installations and repairs and to maintain equipment documentation integrity.nnInterpret specification sheets and technical literature for mechanical and hydraulic components for the purpose of installation and/or troubleshooting.nnMark up prints to accurately reflect equipment current condition.nnCut, weld, braze and fabricate tools, materials and equipment.nnPerform and document preventive maintenance checks, inspections and repairs.nnRevise and work from prints, piping diagrams, manual and specifications; from sanitary codes and ordinances.nnDetermine and obtain required materials, tools, and equipment.nnRepair and/or layout and install, piping systems, associated fixtures; perform automotive and industrial mobile equipment repairs and maintain vehicles.nnPerform blacksmith work.nnErect and remove ladders used in connection with work. Scaffolding may be required to perform work. Organize and maintain work areas, tools and equipment for clean, efficient, and orderly operations.nnPaint in conjunction with repair work.nnOperate cranes and other power driven equipment.nnOperate transportation and material handling equipment as required.nnUse computerized maintenance management systems to write work orders based on equipment needs, log work hours, document equipment condition and status, and requisition parts.nnDevelop, document, write, follow and improve safe work instructions and procedures as well as best work practices.nnUse reliability tools and information systems to collect, document and analyze data and equipment performance to resolve problems to the root causennJourneyman card a plusnnExperience with Pumps, boilers, welding, bearings, and fabricationnn5-7 years maintenance or millwright experiencennHeavy Industrial or heavy machinery backgroundnnKnowledge of lock out/tag outnnExperience with boom lifts, heavy fork trucks, and other large mobile equipmentnnAvailability on all shiftsnnAbout Howmet AerospacennHowmet Aerospace Inc.
