Position Details:
- Starting salary of $70,000 per year.
- Work schedule: Sunday night to Thursday night, from 10:00 PM to approximately 7:00 AM.
Your Role:
As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be a key player in ensuring efficient operations by transporting empty trailers to our warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to shuttle yards. You’ll drive tandem trailers or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will engage professionally with customers, vendors, and teammates to ensure all concerns are addressed promptly.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct essential safety checks including pre/post trip inspections as per DOT regulations.
- Identify and report any safety issues or necessary repairs.
- Adhere to all driving guidelines and report any hazards immediately.
- Ensure route paperwork is ready and accurate before departing.
- Follow predetermined routes for timely deliveries.
- Safely execute hook/unhook procedures and park trailers in designated areas.
- Secure all equipment and freight appropriately at all times.
- Handle damaged goods and customer returns correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness in the trailer and loading dock areas as needed.
- Complete daily logs of hours of service in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Perform other related duties as required to support company goals.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 6 months of commercial driving experience.
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Comply with all state licensing and certification requirements.
- Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and road test.
- Possess a current DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one.
- Ability to lift and use equipment for moving freight of varying weights (generally 60 to 90 pounds).
