Role and Responsibilities :
The Meat Room Custodian is responsible for keeping the meat room of the commissary/grocery store clean, safe, and sanitary.
- Wash and sanitize meat tools like slicers and grinders to keep everything safe.
- Make sure meat preparation and storage areas are tidy and follow health rules.
- Get rid of meat scraps properly, following safety rules.
- Monitor fridges to keep meat at safe temperatures.
- Refill cleaning products and safety gear for the team.
- Assist with moving meat and getting packaging ready.
- Wash the tools and surfaces used by butchers.
- Keep meat displays looking nice and clean.
- Practice good handwashing and sanitation.
- Check meat for quality and freshness, and let supervisors know about any issues.
- Talk with the team about cleaning schedules and what supplies are needed.
- Maintain records of cleaning and sanitation as required.
- Adhere to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene rules.
Requirements:
Physical Demands:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, gran and lift up to (75) lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk the entire shift.
