Job Description
The LPN nurse contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for the assigned patients in the department. Under the direction and leadership of the Nurse Manager, the LPN nurse is guided by a thorough knowledge of nursing theory, principles, and standards of quality care, with ability to coordinate patients' medical care as top priorities. The LPN nurse is responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of Methadone and Buprenorphine medication to patients in compliance with FDA, DEA regulations and departmental policies and procedures. The LPN nurse is responsible for collecting urine specimens in accordance with regulatory and departmental policy. Is responsible for assisting physicians, PAs and/or NPs in the evaluation of and attention to the medical needs of the patient including assisting with physicals, following up with all medical orders and referrals, taking vitals, placing PPDs, immunizations, completing bloodwork as needed, preparing and administering EKG, scheduling appointments for annual physicals, medication orders, laboratory orders, follow-ups, etc. The LPN nurse is responsible for documenting all care provided accurately and completely according to Hospital and Department policy. The LPN nurse also may perform other related duties as assigned.
At least one (1) year experience working as a LPN in a substance abuse treatment setting
Experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders required
Additional language fluency is preferred
Computer literacy required
Current Registration in New York State as an LPN
High School Diploma
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
PAY: 1199 Union Bargaining Rates
