Responsibilities: - Assure that all service protocols for storing, administering and destroying medications are consistent with current nursing practice and the regulations of the Department of Public Health, Food and Drug Division, Chapter 94C
- Administer medications as ordered by the prescriber; monitor consumers for clinical/side effects and document observations for review by the prescriber
- Complete all medication administration documentation in accordance with policies and procedures of Eliot including transfer of physician orders, documentation of the Medication Administration records, and sample medication distribution
- Contact on-site or on-call prescriber to obtain written or verbal physicians orders for all CCS client admissions to the program
- Conduct and document-controlled substance counts in the controlled substance log book in compliance with applicable regulations and policy
- Support/provide medication assisted treatment including inductions under the direction of the CCS prescriber
- Support/provide harm reduction services including Eliot detox protocols, medication supports and monitoring
- Provide supports/interventions that focus on maintaining clients at CCS to addresses behavioral health needs
Qualifications: - Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Nursing with minimum of two years of experience in nursing in a psychiatric service OR Licensed Practical Nurse with 4 years of experience
- Excellent written and organizational skills
- Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
