The RN –Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effectiveand efficient manner, with supervision. The RN - Telemetry exhibitscritical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care,and consistently performs according to nursing standards while remainingaccountable for providing patient care and assisting others in the managementof patient care.nnEssential Duties andResponsibilities:nnUtilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on telemetry unitnnPerforms focused interview to identify specific patient needsnnAssesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s conditionnnMonitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changesnnRecords vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.nnMonitors patient progress and updates patient medical records as needednnResponds to patients experiencing cardiac painnnPerforms various diagnostic testsnnManages and administers medicationnnMonitors and uses the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECGnnEducates patients on cardiac health and communicates with patient’s family when applicablennAdministers tests, analyzes lab results, and reports them to the physiciannnDocuments the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsnnIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirementsnnPerforms interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standardnnProvides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environmentnnRevises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventionsnnDocuments patient’s response to nursing and other interventionsnnUses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established prioritiesnnMonitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipmentnnMinimum Requirements:nnCurrent Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practicesnnOne year experience in Telemetry PreferrednnComplies with all relevant professional standards of practicennParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicablennCurrent CPR if applicablennTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicablennCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)nnMust meet all federal, state and local requirementsnnSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job sitennUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsnnAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requirednnComputer proficiency requirednnMust be at least 18 years of agennBenefitsnnAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:nnCompetitive pay & weekly paychecksnnHealth, dental, vision, and life insurancenn401(k) savings plannnAwards and recognition programsnn*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.nnAbout AmergisnnAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
