Unit Specifics:
• Number of Beds : 30 22 Acute Care 8 Stepdown
• Patient Ratios :6:1 on Acute Care 4:1 on Neuro stepdown
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): 1 RN Charge is over all of 10 tower, 1-2 Techs and a unit secretary.
• Type of equipment: Acute Care side: Vital sign machine, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips. All things stroke. Neuro stepdown: Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, titrating cardiac drips.
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: This depends on schedule, Weekends shifts are required.
• Floating policy:. Experience nurses can float after orientation.
• Patient Experience requirements: Bedside shift report, personal connection, and daily huddle.
Hospital Specifics-
• Certifications: BLS for Acute Care BLS and ACLS for Neuro Stepdown.
Hiring profile
Requested Skill Set:
Must have:
Acute Care strong nursing skills and time management. Neuro stepdown, I would like stepdown experience.
Advanced skills needed: Strong critical thinking skills.
Procedures performed on unit: The most common are lumbar puncture and chest tube placement.
Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS
Dress Code: (Required uniform) 10 Tower you can wear black, any shade blue or grey, and any color scrubs on Friday.
