About the Role
  • Full-service hospitalist practice at Universityof Maryland (UM) Upper Chesapeake Health locations in Bel Air and Aberdeen
  • Part of the University of Maryland MedicalSystem
  • University hospital with excellent specialtysupport
  • Average 15 patients/day
  • Closed ICU, our team is not expected to performprocedures or run codes
  • Staffing Model: 23 providers; 12 physicians/11 APPs
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Beds 257
  • Trauma Level - Level II
  • Graduate of an accredited Acute Care NursePractitioner or Physician Assistant Program
  • Responsibilitiesinclude providing acute inpatient care within the hospital setting, includingadmitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing,performing hospital rounds, and planning for discharge. Our PhysicianAssistants and Nurse Practitioners work side by side with our physicians asclinical colleagues

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our hospitalist team provides inpatient internal medicine care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds and planning for discharge.
Follow all established policies for maintenance and signing of medical records.
Contribute to the achievement of department goals and adhere to policies, procedures, and quality and safety standards.
Submit accurate and timely charges for all professional services performed
REQUIREMENTS
  • 1+ years acute inpatient experience as an advanced practice provider
  • Strong inpatient skill set
  • Quality-focused team player
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
  • Active license, American Heart Association CPR Certification, DEA License, state Controlled Substance Registration, BLS and ACLS
