- As a Supply Chain Sourcing Intern your goal is to support the Briggs & Stratton corporate Supply Chain team. You'll be exposed to and participate in projects in many areas. You'll also expand on and enhance basic knowledge in supply chain and sourcing. Finally, you'll interact with supervisors, team members, project leaders and other business functions.
- Start Date: January 2025
- Duration: Will continue into summer/next school year
- Hours per week: 15-20 during school year; 40 during summer
- Pay: 16.50 - 18.50/hr depending on level in school
You will do this by: - Evaluating broad purchasing practices, quotes and reviewing cost/price and value analysis to select and review alternative suppliers
- Recommending and implementing changes in processes or procedures for assigned areas
- Leading Supply Chain improvement projects
- Supporting Category Management Leadership by being an integral part of creating and implementing purchasing strategies
- Analyzing data, economic trends, costs and materials to make data driven recommendations
- Reviewing, understanding, and communicating contract language

- Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in specified function (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field)
- Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous related experience working in a support function of a team
- Experience using large data sets
- Experience using Business Intelligence tools (DOMO, Power BI, etc)
Additional Knowledge & Skills: - Good working knowledge of computer software
- A long-term interest in supply chain and sourcing
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Possess poise and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and analysis skills
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
