Eloy Psychiatrist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) - The Psychiatrist provides direct patient care within the psychiatric scope of practice.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage mental health conditions, including prescribing psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects.
- Conduct telepsychiatry consultations using electronic medical records (EMR) and video conferencing tools.
- Perform psychotherapy and supportive treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy and somatic therapies.
- The Psychiatrist monitors and documents treatment progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Participate in performance improvement programs, ensuring quality and appropriateness of care.
- Act as a mental health consultant to medical staff, providing oversight and direction related to mental health care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Complete and pass all competency tests, training, and certifications required by the facility.
- The Psychiatrist provides emergency psychiatric care during on-call coverage, which includes returning to the facility as needed.
Psychiatrist - REQUIREMENTS - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited U.S. institution, or an equivalent degree from a foreign medical school accredited by NCFMEA and ECFMG for foreign graduates.
- Minimum one year of experience as a licensed psychiatrist.
- Full and unrestricted medical license in the state of Louisiana.
- Must be board certified/board eligible by the ABPN.
- Must have current ACLS and BLS certification or equivalent.
