Job specification

• Provide comprehensive pre-operative care, including patient assessment, preparation, and education to ensure readiness for surgery.
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including health histories, physical assessments, and review of surgical consents.
• Administer prescribed medications, start IV lines, and monitor patient vital signs to ensure stability before surgery.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, post-operative expectations, and recovery plans.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a pre-operative or surgical care setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
