Together, our teammates create value in specialty care by aligning physicians, health plans and health systems around a common goal: delivering on the quadruple aim of high-quality outcomes and a better experience for patients and providers, all at a lower total cost of care.nnAs part of Optum, we participate in an integrated care delivery system that enables us to support our partners as they navigate a complex healthcare environment, Only SCA Health has a dynamic group of physician-driven, specialty care businesses that allows us to customize solutions, no matter the need or challenge:nnWe connect patients to physicians in new and differentiated ways as part of Optum and with our new Specialty Management Solutions business.nnWe have pioneered a physician-led, multi-site model of practice solutions that restores physician agency by aligning incentives to support growth and transition to value-based care.nnWe lead the industry in value-based payment solutions through our Global 1 bundled payment convener, that provides easy predictable billing to patients.nnWe help physicians address everything beyond surgical procedures, including anesthesia and ancillary service lines.nnThe new SCA Health represents who we are today and where we are going—and the growing career opportunities for YOU.nnResponsibilitiesnnWe are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU.nnPromote the mission, vision, and values of SCA .nnAssess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient’snncardiovascular system,nnrespiratory system and airway management needs,nnneurological system,nnhemodynamic stability,nnpain and comfort needs, andnnmental status.nnInterpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.nnDescribe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.nnDescribe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions.nnApply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer ( e.g. , Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score ( i.e. , PARSAP), Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System (PADSS), White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy.nnDevelop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.nnImplement the plan of care including the following interventions:nnPreparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – general.nnPreparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – monitored anesthesia care.nnPreparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – regional.nnPreparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – local.nnPreparing for and protecting patient from injury caused by positioning, thermal sources, and extraneous objects.nnC ommunicating the patient’s current status throughout the perianesthesia continuum of care.nnP roviding acute pain and comfort management as needed.nnA dministering medications safely and correctly by using the 8 -rights of safe medication administration.nnP erforming interventions to maintain the integrity of the patient’s wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels .nnP erforming interventions to maintain the status of the patient’s genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels.nnP erforming interventions to ensure the patient is at or returned to normothermia at the conclusion of the immediate postoperative period.nnP erforming interventions to protect patient from infection.nnM anaging patient’s other co-morbid conditions as applicable.nnM anaging patient’s fluid as prescribed.nnA ssessing knowledge level of patient or designated support person and providing education regarding the expected psychosocial response, nutritional management, medication management, pain and comfort management, wound management, and expected responses to the operative or invasive procedure;nnI nvolving patient or designated support person actively in decisions affecting his or her perioperative plan of care and the rehabilitation process.nnP rotecting patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy.nnP roviding age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice; andnnP roviding consistent and comparable care regardless of the setting.nnEvaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes.nnTransfer care as needed.nnProvide hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient’s condition and response to care.nnDelegate tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act (if applicable), state board of nursing or professional registration requirements, state laws, and job descriptions.nnDocument nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.nnCollaborate effectively with other disciplines as needed.nnParticipate in quality review and performance improvement projects.nnParticipate in the performance appraisal process.nnUse p roblem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.nnMaintain required competencies.nnPursue professional growth.nnAct as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.nnComply with all facility policies and procedures when providing patient care .nnActively participate in team meetings, trainings, and daily safety huddles .nnDemonstrate fiscal responsibility.nnPerform all other duties as assigned .nnQualificationsnnGraduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.nnOne year of Pre Operative or PACU experience requirednnMedical / surgical nursing experiencennCurrent state licensure to practice within good standings. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.nnSuccessful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.nnSuccessful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.nnUSD $28.00/Hr. USD $38.00/Hr.
