OverviewnnThe Retail Assistant Store Manager at Office Depot, Inc. plays a pivotal role in driving total sales and service growth within our stores. Additionally, your enthusiasm and expertise will help us create and nurture a vibrant sales culture, enhancing our store's visual and merchandising standards, freight, and logistics activities, and prioritizing unparalleled client satisfaction. The Retail Assistant Store Manager will be a “Key Carrier” and considered a leader on duty. All Retail Assistant Store Manager’s must be able to work a flexible schedule that aligns with business needs, inclusive of the ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. The ideal Assistant Manager should be passionate about sales, delivering exceptional service, driving operational excellence, and developing a high-performing team.nnThe essential functions of this position may require you to consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third-party.nnPrimary Responsibilities:nnSales and Service Excellence:nnPartner with the management team to drive memorable customer experiences and client satisfaction.nnEnsure the execution of Office Depot, Inc. selling techniques and sales training across the store.nnFoster a sales-focused environment through assisting with the training and development of associates.nnAct as a role model for delivering exceptional customer service and product expertise.nnOperational Efficiency:nnProcess merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards.nnIdentify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies.nnAssist the General Manager in providing guidance and effective coaching to associates for improved performance.nnContribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction improvement initiatives.nnLeadership and Team Development:nnProvide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to store associates, including Print Services associates.nnFacilitate training sessions on the business model and the holistic service offering for clients/customers.nnObserve, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build a culture of trust and brand loyalty.nnRegularly exercises independent judgment when providing input to the General Manager on assessing store associates' performance, certification(s), and competencies.nnOther responsibilities as deemed necessarynnExternal Key Carrier Responsibilities:nnMaintain the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other managers.nnPerform opening and closing responsibilities, including activation and deactivation of the store's alarm system, cash handling, and daily store balancing.nnAs a leader in the store, ensure regular loss prevention compliance.nnFulfill responsibilities associated with External Key Carrier designationnnEducation and Experience:nnHigh School diploma or equivalent, Bachelors preferrednnBusiness, Marketing, Retail , or related fieldsnnMinimum 1-3 years of experience in related fieldnnRetail, sales, customer facing, and/or supervisory experience preferrednnBasic computer skills and the ability to use computers and technology for information, and to access information necessary to complete the job.nnExperience with Logistics and FreightnnAdvanced selling skillsnnMust be able to effectively lead and coach others in a professional environmentnnCoaches / Motivates, Conflict Management, Problem Solving,nnDrives for Results, Directing Others, Decision Quality, Business Acumen, Collaboration / Team Spirit, Accountability, Time ManagementnnPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsnnMust be able to plan, prioritize and execute detailed instructions in a timely and efficient mannernnDemonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to work independently, as well as with othersnnMust be adaptable to a changing environment and focused on driving resultsnnClient focused, positive and engaging, action oriented, demonstrates a passion for the brand, products, services, and solutions.nnAbout The ODP Corporation: The ODP Corporation (NASDAQ:ODP) is a leading provider of products and services through an integrated business-to-business (B2B) distribution platform and omnichannel presence, which includes world-class supply chain and distribution operations, dedicated sales professionals, a B2B digital procurement solution, online presence, and a network of Office Depot and OfficeMax retail stores.
