In addition to performing all duties associated with an adult RCP, job code 400828, the Pediatric Specialist RCP must maintain competencies, training, and knowledge directly associated with pediatric and neonatal critical care. The PEDI-RCP will provide care in all CHAD areas including but not limited to: Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Specialty Care, Birthing Pavilion, and Emergency Department.
Responsibilities Performs all responsibilities as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Assists in High risk deliveries. Responds to OB Emergencies. Responds to Pediatric and Neonatal Code Blue, Pediatric Stat Airway Activations, and Pediatric Rapid Response Activations. Competent in the management of Mechanical Ventilation in Neonatal and small pediatric patient populations. Competent in the application and management of High Frequency Oscillator and the Jet ventilator. Maintains competency in the administration of surfactant to preterm infants. Competent in administration of nitrous oxide to pediatric patients for painful procedures. Completes NOEP during ICN orientation. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist via the NBRC
- Minimum of 2 years working in adult critical care or previous neonatal/pediatric critical care experience
Required Licensure/Certifications - Licensed in NH as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certification
