Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for part-time or full-time Faculty Primary Care Integrated Tele-psychiatrist position.

The Community, Population, and Public Division Psychiatrist will provide clinical coverage of services as an Integrated Tele psychiatrist within family medicine. They will be part of a psychiatric team that includes addiction and child services. They will provide virtual consultative services to family medicine physicians and work with an interdisciplinary team of psychology, nursing, and other staff. They serve clinics in Family Medicine across the front range including: UCHealth Lone Tree Primary Care, UCHealth Family Medicine Boulder, UCHealth Family Medicine Westminster, UCHealth AF Williams Family Medicine Central Park, CU Family Medicine Landmark, CU Family Medicine Centennial, CU Family Medicine Depot Hill. This position will be a fully telehealth role has a primary family medicine clinic location to serve and will be a combination of and telework, including tele-consultations supporting primary care providers. We strive for whole person care and support the PCP team until the patient is stable and progressing or support appropriate bridging to establish with longer term mental health care. While the daily work is all virtual, a single or annual in-person visit may be encouraged to support comfort and trust within the team.

Patients served include all communities including underserved populations in the Denver metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform psychiatric consultations and evaluations that include assessment, diagnostic clarification, and bio-psycho-social conceptualizations
  • Provide psychoeducation around diagnosis, next steps, and treatment options
  • Clear communication with patient and team regarding assessment, next steps, and treatment recommendations
  • Thorough Documentation that can be easily understood and executed by Family Physician and Care team that includes assessments, clinical decision making, and treatment recommendations
  • Professional and Respectful Coordination with Interdisciplinary Team and Staff
  • Discuss Complex Patient Cases
  • Support Efficient Clinical and Team Processes
  • Daily work is fully virtual
  • Participate in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with JCAHO accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct.
  • Actively contributes to academic advancement of his/her/their discipline
  • Maintains eligibility for SOM faculty appointment
  • Help with medical student, resident and fellow education in both clinical and didactic settings
  • Participate in the attending call rotation for only 2 weeks/year

The ranks are based on how many years a candidate has been licensed and if they want to pursue the promotions track.

Instructor:

  • 1-3 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO

Sr. Instructor:

  • 1-3 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO

Assistant Professor:

  • 1-3 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO

Associate Professor:

  • 4-7 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO

Professor:

  • 7+ years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret age specific developmental, physiologic, and unique care needs by assessment and by observation of care delivery
  • Experience in making psychiatric diagnoses and managing psychiatric disorders
  • Experience working effectively on a psychiatric behavioral health team
  • Experience in telepsychiatry

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO

Instructor: $215,000 to $225,000

Senior Instructor: $215,000 to $225,000

Assistant Professor: $215,000 to $225,000

Associate Professor: $235,000 to $255,000

Professor: $265,000 to $285,000

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
