Summary of Position
In close partnership with the Assistant Director for MUB Operations & Events, this position helps manage day-to-day building operations and event services, and has primary responsibility for overseeing student hourly personnel in the Granite Square Station (student postal station) in a highly visible and vibrant student union environment. Each year the Memorial Union Building (MUB) sees over one million visitors and holds thousands of meetings and events. This role lends critical support to both the University and Memorial Union missions - enhancing student success and well-being, supporting a wide variety of student life activities, and creating opportunities for student development and engagement.

Job Duties
Duty/Responsibility
Provide leadership for student hourly personnel efforts in Operations, to include:
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate approximately 35 student employees who are responsible for daily building operations including event and client services, room set ups, information desk management, policy enforcement, and emergency procedure implementation
- Manage student employee scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll
- Utilize a student development approach when coaching student employees or addressing disciplinary situations following Memorial Union and University of New Hampshire protocols
- Participate in weekly Facilities & Operations meetings to streamline communication and collaborate with Facility Manager and their respective staff
- Manage the showing of Digital Cinema Package (DCP) films in the MUB Theaters including training student employee staff on the process
Duty/Responsibility
Provide leadership for management of Granite Square Station including both Student Postal Center and Ship Store to include:
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate mail room staff including one part-time professional staff assistant and approximately 25 student employees
- Manage scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll for all Granite Square Station employees
- Direct and manage receipt, sorting, and distribution of first class/bulk mail for 11,000+ students, using current technologies, oversee and control all aspects of the mailing address process, to include initial assignments, deletions, inactivation, reactivations, and changes of addresses in student database.
- Using a Cloud based/computerized Tracking Parcel System (SCLogic), direct and control the receipt, sorting, cataloging, distribution, and delivery for 200,000+ packages annually. Record, research, and analyze databases, and use to respond to inquiries and prepare reports. Supervise and prioritize receipt, sorting, and distribution of incoming campus mail for 12+ internal departments and 200+ student organizations.
- Ensure Postal Mate point-of-sale system is maintained.
Duty/Responsibility
Additional administrative duties include:
- Fulfill duties of Assistant Director of Operations & Events in their absence.
- Maximize use of resources including funding, personnel, facilities, and time.
- Serve on Memorial Union and university committees.
- Contribute to the development of short- and long-range plans.
- Gather, interpret, and prepare data for studies, reports, and recommendations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to remain on the forefront of the field.
- Other duties as assigned.
