Essential Responsibilities: The Occupational Therapist will provide occupational therapy services in a professional manner in accordance with approved methods and standards of practice, adhering to the guidelines of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Including but not limited to:

n- Assessment and treatment related to dysfunction of the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
n- Treatment and measurement of the function/dysfunction of the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems. Treatment may target any of the following areas but may not be limited to: strength, range of motion, mobility, balance, gait, coordination, endurance, personal care, activities of daily living, wheelchair use, equipment recommendations, body awareness, orthotic and prosthetic needs, body mechanics, posture, pediatrics, relaxation/stress management, cardiovascular condition, home exercise program, work analysis, and isokinetic training.
n- Performs and documents a comprehensive evaluation of the client's level of function and participation in the development of the total client care plan.
n- Identifies the client and family needs for home health services and referral for same when needed.
n- Participation in case management conferences
n- Instruction of the client, family and other agency personnel in the patient's treatment regime when indicated.
n- Supervision of the therapy assistants.
n- Supervision of home health aides when such personnel are participating in the patient's therapy regime.
n- Assures quality and safe delivery of therapy services to all clients.
n- Performs and submits timely documentation on all appointed visits.
n- Oversees compliance for collection of required documentation for timely submission.
n- Assures compliance with infection control and safety instructions.
n- Keep current with required CEUs and monitors staff for compliance with required CEUs.
n- Actively participates in the communication process integral to ensuring quality client care.
n- Follows established lines of communication and authority.

Minimum Qualifications:
n
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of therapy. Must be registered with the State Board. Must meet all requirements for the applicable state regulatory agency. Must have previous work experience as an Occupational Therapist in a clinical environment. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Experience: Minimum of (1) yeas in a home health care agency unless otherwise qualified in the above stated regulations
n
Licensure Registered Therapist with an active Connecticut State License
